Animations about Covid, HIV & pregnancy
These short animations were made for doctors in Uganda, Zimbabwe and Malawi. They have been used on social media and local TV to provide guidance on Covid vaccination and living with Covid, which is now endemic. They also provide public health messages to prevent HIV positive mothers from passing HIV to their babies.

Dementia awareness training and support for Memory Cafes
Visit the Memory Cafe Hub, which we built with the Devon Memory Cafe Consortium to be a national resource for community volunteers working with those living with dementia. There is a full dementia awareness training course – and a complete guide to setting up and running a memory cafe.

Using technology to save small babies
We created a series of training videos for NEST360 (Newborn Essential Solutions and Technologies), an organisation dedicated to preventing newborn deaths in hospitals across Africa. The videos provide complete training courses in how to set up, use and maintain specific pieces of equipment used in Neonatal Intensive Care Units.

Behind the scenes
Ernest and James filming for the NEST 360 project
This short film montage is an insight into the work involved when shooting material for a Picturing Health film project.
The film shows Ernest and James busy creating material for NEST 360, an alliance set up to help African governments and hospitals to end preventable newborn deaths in African hospitals.
Hospitals in Africa have warehouses full of donated equipment that’s broken and can’t be mended without the right expertise and parts. This set of films trains health workers to use appropriate technology and engineers to mend devices.
