A village tale (Chichewa)

From the ‘Make Art Stop Aids’ film project in Malawi. Credo finds out she is HIV positive. But how does she tell her husband, who is terrified of getting tested? The story of misunderstandings, accusations and recriminations is acted out to the growing amusement of the crowd, who only gradually realise that it is their attitudes towards HIV which are really on trial. This is an interactive performance, used to challenge community attitudes towards HIV in Malawi and open space for people to get tested and onto treatment. This is the full version of the film, in Chichewa with English subtitles.
