Research filmsTRACT trial

The TRACT trial

Severe anaemia is common among children in sub-Saharan Africa, but there’s little evidence on how best to treat it. This film explores the results of the TRACT trial, a major randomised controlled clinical trial, which tested two blood transfusion strategies and found some surprising results.

This film was made for the Medical Research Council Clinical Trials Unit (MRC-CTU at University College London), which coordinated the TRACT trial.
