Diabetes Course 7 – Diabetes and HIV

Seven films which form the backbone of Diabetes training courses for health workers, covering Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, complications and diet.

This is the last of seven films forming the backbone of a complete diabetes course for Malawi, aimed at clinicians, health workers, expert patients and others affected by diabetes. It was produced in collaboration with the Diabetes team at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, Blantyre and the Diabetes Association of Malawi (DAM). DAM also contributed to the funding of this project. Total running time of all seven films is around 2 hours ten minutes. The other films are: An introduction to Diabetes (8 mins), Type 1 Diabetes (13 mins), Type 2 diabetes (30 mins), Diet (in Chichewa) 30 mins, Complications of diabetes 33 mins, epidemiology of diabetes in Malawi – 6 mins, Diabetes and HIV – 5 mins.

This is a set of seven films which form the backbone of a course to teach about diabetes for Clinicians, Health Care Workers, Patients and others affected by diabetes. They were filmed in Malawi, with the diabetes team at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital, Blantyre, but could be adapted for other countries in Africa.
