Lessons of the DART Clinical Trial (2009 – 10 Mins)

Stream on YouTube

This film is aimed at informing and influencing policy makers following evidence from the DART trial that many more lives could be saved by prioritising the roll-out of HIV medicines, than by investing in the expensive routine Lab testing done in wealthy countries to monitor treatment. This is an on-going debate as policy makers have ring-fenced budgets to roll out expensive universal viral load testing in Africa, despite the fact that many who need treatment are still not getting it.
